Shalondria Simpson, PharmD is a Doctor of Pharmacy who received her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas and a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from Texas Southern University (TSU). Upon graduating from TSU in 2008, Dr. Simpson relocated to Dallas, Texas to complete a pharmacy practice residency at Parkland Health & Hospital Systems. During her residency, she rotated through various clinics around Dallas County monitoring, educating, and counseling underserved patients on their medications and various disease states.

After the successful completion of her residency, Dr. Simpson’s passion for education quickly led her into a dual position as pharmacist and professor at her alma mater, TSU. However, Dr. Simpson has always had an entrepreneurial spirit at heart. While not at work, she would work prn (as needed) as a pharmacist in an independent pharmacy. While there Dr. Simpson would research the new and the latest ideas to help market and grow the pharmacy. She would set up strategy meetings with the owners on the new information in pharmacy and how they could use the information to grow their pharmacy and other pharmacies. Dr. Simpson also consulted with a lot of non-pharmacist owners and helped them with opening procedures and growing their own pharmacy. Dr. Simpson did that for 3 years before she bought her first pharmacy. In 2013, she acquired Advance Pharmacy, and transformed it into her own Pharmacy with eclectic ideas in mind for compounding medicinal products while enjoying the freedom of practicing pharmacy, tailoring medications to individualized patient needs and valuing each of her patients as family.

TruCare Pharmacy was founded in July of 2017 by Shalondria Simpson, PharmD with the vision of Valuing Patients as Family. This vision is embodied in TruCare Pharmacy’s name because Dr. Simpson is dedicated to truly caring about patient’s health from beginning to end. She ensures TruCare is set apart from other Pharmacies by providing low-cost generics, custom medication compounding, refill reminders, delivery service as well as an elaborate discharge medication concierge service accommodating the St. Joseph’s Medical Center. TruCare’s innovative technology provides video conferencing with a knowledgeable pharmacist to answer any questions that may arise when patients are unable to physically make it to the pharmacy. Her eclectic style is exuded in TruCare Pharmacy’s lobby design to truly make patient’s truly feel at-home.
